Despite the horrifying reality over 60 million babies have been aborted since 1973, liberals are obsessed with gay marriage – completely redefining and secularizing the religious institution of marriage – granting amnesty and welfare to over 15 million illegal aliens – despite knowingly violating our laws and sovereignty to enter this county – and growing our Government – the most inefficient, immoral and corrupt institution in America – past the point where our debt now consumes over 100% of our GDP. If these glaring discrepancies do not illustrate how detached and radical Barack Obama and his fellow progressives are, then we have simply forgotten how to think for ourselves. When “We the People” allow our elected leaders to replace God with Government, to bankrupt our children’s future by giving away our hard earned money, and to regulate our freedoms to the point of subjugation, we are condemning ourselves and this republic to the dustbin of history. Washington cannot do something as elementary as balancing its checkbook, control spending, yet insolvent citizens are prosecuted for unpaid debts or detained for speaking out harshly against the President’s numerous failures and abuses. Have we learned nothing from bankrupt, socialist Europe or communist China? Sadly, that’s exactly what leftist politicians are counting on: ignorance and apathy.
Nothing was more offensive or a threat to our founding fathers blueprint for America than Big Government; a unilateral monstrosity that grew beyond reproach or care. Our values, our economic vitality, our once fabled American work ethic, our very unity as a freedom loving people, have all systematically deteriorated under the subversive watch of liberalism. And sadly, this was the goal of leftists all along: to erode our tried and true constitutional ideals of liberty, God, capitalism, self reliance, and accountability in lieu of allegiance to a centralized government and a New World Order that would both provide (pandemic poverty) and even think for us. Apropos…without economic freedom, there is no individual freedom. If we do not draw the line now, recommit ourselves to the ideals that made America the most revered nation on earth – our natural born, God-given rights that were the impetus for emancipation of the slaves & the equality of women – this country will more resemble those destitute and repressive regimes many of these immigrants are fleeing, rather than the land of hope and opportunity our ancestors were so desperately seeking.
For the sake of diehard contrarians, I will freely admit God is not necessarily a prerequisite to the existence of liberty or morality. However, his teachings have instilled timeless universal principles – those so prevalent in our Constitution – in our youth, as well as all facets of civilization, for millennia. Sure, these tenets of wisdom can and have been perverted by unjust and nefarious leaders; but that is merely a reflection on their flawed and wicked nature….not God’s. Such is the cost of free will. Regardless of one’s personal religious persuasion, our new-found nation drew strength, direction, and hope from our steadfast belief in God, not the duplicitous diatribes of vain, aspiring and unscrupulous men. Now, as I sit in the fading shadow of those brave souls who bled, sacrificed and died to forge the dream that was America – a nonnegotiable conviction in the gift of life, our individual autonomy – I’m beginning to doubt that our fabled people, those once baptized in the placid waters of liberty and good will, even know the difference anymore. If cognizant patriots do not start using unflinching perspective and cutthroat common sense to properly frame and address the most egregious and pressing issues confronting these United States of America, our children will become defined by our failure. And for that, regardless of guilt or attribution, we will all pay the ultimate price.
Woe to them that call evil good and good evil. ~ Isaiah 5:20
Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have. The course of history shows that as a government grows, liberty decreases.
~ Thomas Jefferson
