Everyone needs to ask the GOP one question: Why do we need the Republican Party anymore? After the 2012 election a commissioned “independent” report concluded that Republicans needed to become more like Democrats in order to win in November. The laughable result; other than actually taking that assertion serious? They’re shamelessly following that suggestion by becoming a political doormat for nearly every progressive whim! We lost in 2012 because party officials were too afraid to take the gloves off and properly expose Obama’s horrific record with unflinching perspective and cutthroat common sense; i.e., leave absolutely no wiggle room by framing each issue relative to the people’s struggles. There’s a reason why America became the most prolific, prosperous, and revered nation in the world in such a short time: and it had nothing to do with wealth redistribution, entitlement, anti-Americanism, class warfare, abortion, gay marriage or modern day secularism. The 2010 and 2014 midterm elections proved that a principled, unwavering conservative platform can still command the people’s ideological respect and loyalties. Too bad the GOP wasn’t taking notes, instead of planning to surrender its backbone to the Democratic party in the name of electoral evolution.
Despite possessing a litany of damning facts, Republicans allowed a corrupt administration to control the narrative of the 2012 campaign with bogus distractions – Romney’s wealth, Wall Street, the endless “war on women/war on minorities” propaganda – rather than being held accountable for a level of failure not seen since Carter. To make matters worse, every time I turned on my TV I witnessed no less than two Obama commercials per hour on multiple networks. Romney? Perhaps one a week if lucky! By focusing solely on swing states you lose the national debate, ridiculous claims/accusations are left unanswered, while leaving yourself absolutely no room for error. And let’s not forget, nationwide ads also reach swing state voters! Make no mistake about it, the GOP lost because of an inept, small minded, politically correct campaign strategy. In other words, by not providing a vibrant contrast to the status quo, they played not to lose rather than doing everything necessary to win. In boxing terms…that’s how you get knocked-the-hell-out. I, on the other hand, would rather stand-up and fight for my convictions!
