The First Lady of Race

Michelle Obama attacked American Museums as places only for white people. Hmm, and what about European museums? I must be confused because I thought museums were about culturally significant pieces of artwork and historically relevant artifacts and works; an enduring legacy intended to educate all people regardless of racial connotation. I guess I’m ignorant because I never once considered or cared about the race of those represented in museums or the patrons who attended them. Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t the Smithsonian in Washington, DC have an expansive section dedicated entirely to black history and culture? And unless I’m mistaken, isn’t there also a Black Holocaust Museum in Milwaukee and an African American Museum in Philadelphia? I’m just curious, Michelle; does Africa’s indigenous museums – the descendants of those who knowingly sold your ancestors to European slave traders – cater to the sensibilities of white people or would that be an insult because you actually believe we are all evil; those who founded the very nation that elected your non-white husband and affords you a lifestyle few native Africans can even fathom? Perhaps you should simply no longer speak because “We the People” already know you’re an anti-American bigot and an intolerable racist. Obviously the word “unite” is painfully absent from you and your husband’s vocabulary. In other words, not everything is about race! It’s still legal to be a grown-up, or if you like, a real First Lady.
