Once upon a time, independent and principled journalists were the watchdog of our Constitutional Republic. They mercilessly hounded any hint of tyranny, corruption, and above all else feared overbearing, intrusive government. I’m sad to report that sense of duty and dignity, that fabled old friend named integrity, has long been buried in the name of partisan politics. Last night during the Democratic Inquisition of Donald Trump, despite a sordid trail of scandal and deceit, moderator Lester Holt made zero mentions of the Clinton Foundation, the DNC “taco bowl” outreach program and their collusion to stop Bernie Sanders, Benghazi, Hillary’s private server fiasco or the fact she shamelessly sold favors and appointments in exchange for foreign campaign donations while at the State Department. However, while loitering on the tipped scales of misplaced outrage, he smugly attacked Mr. Trump for calling Rosie O’Donnell fat and a disgusting human being – an obvious observation to the most logically impaired, hopelessly biased spectator – and for being a successful entrepreneur in a capitalistic society in which he found legal loopholes to avoid paying as much taxes as possible; something every American citizen, corporation and private business owner does each and every year in the name of common sense. Don’t lecture America about wealth or “fair share” when the millionaire Clintons charge over $200,000 per speech and 96% of their charitable donations were funneled through their own corrupt foundation, as a tax shelter, only to wind-back up in Hillary’s campaign warchest. Besides, who in the hell wants to pay more taxes to a government that can’t balance its checkbook, gives illegals welfare and aids known terrorist nations? Offended yet?
Until Hillary Clinton receives the same level of scrutiny and distrust from the press, these are not debates: they’re engineered ambushes designed to make a corrupt, lying politician look presidential and remotely affable. Donald Trump received 15 questions and was interrupted 41 times. Hillary was asked two direct questions while she was only interrupted on seven occasions. If this debate was a forum for earnest and honest discourse so the American people could judge the candidates solely on the merits on their ideas and their individual records, than Socrates wants to buy you a shot. Oh and Lester…the man called her fat because she is a nasty, disrespectful pig who said she wanted to smear her “period” blood on his supporters. Any additional, unrivaled issues of national importance or should we just all just listen to her vile rendition of our national anthem? Thank you for confirming, Mr. Holt, in your morally relevant crusade to help the people find the most credible and capable leader, that journalism is indeed dead in America; a country predicated upon limited government, media transparency and accountability. If the end justifies the means in progressive circles – to deceive the public at every turn, shield impropriety and transform out most scared duty as citizens into a farce – than you’ve achieved your goal of officially applying for Mrs. Clinton’s future Press Secretary.
